What to Expect

Congratulations on completing FirstAidWeb’s ACLS Provider Certification Course! You’ve invested the time, effort, and commitment—now it’s time to secure your certification.

This exam isn’t meant to trick you. It’s designed to confirm your understanding of the material. Take a breath, get focused, and review the key details below before you begin.

Exam Overview

  • 65 questions covering all key ACLS topics, including multiple-choice and true/false. Questions are randomized for each attempt.
  • Exam must be completed within 90 minutes.
  • You must answer every question before submitting.
  • Detailed feedback is provided for every answer—correct or incorrect.
  • Passing score: 75%.
  • You have three consecutive attempts. After that, a review break will be required before trying again.

What to Keep in Mind

  • This is an individual exam—no notes, no outside help.
  • Plan for one sitting—you cannot save and return later.
  • Ensure a stable internet connection, a charged device, and a distraction-free environment.
  • You can review and change answers before submitting, but stay mindful—speed and accuracy matter in real-life situations.
  • Give your responses one final review, then submit with confidence.

What Happens Next

  • Results are displayed immediately upon submission.
  • Pass? You’ll receive your official ACLS Certification Card instantly.
  • Didn’t pass? No stress—you’ll have up to three consecutive attempts before a review break is enforced. After that, you can retake the exam.

You're ready—best of luck on your exam!

PETCO2 monitoring is used to confirm effective ventilation and chest compressions.

What is the most reliable indicator of effective chest compressions?

What is the recommended compression fraction for effective CPR?

What is the appropriate interval for rhythm checks during CPR?

The ideal pulse check duration during CPR is 10-15 seconds.

What is the next step after identifying a shockable rhythm?

How often should rhythm checks occur during ongoing CPR?

Waveform capnography is the preferred method to confirm endotracheal tube placement.

The correct dose of epinephrine for pediatric cardiac arrest is 0.01 mg/kg IV/IO.

The recommended compression-to-ventilation ratio for single-rescuer infant CPR is 15:2.

What is the appropriate interval for delivering epinephrine during cardiac arrest?

Defibrillation energy for adult cardiac arrest typically starts at 360 J.

What is the compression rate for CPR in adults?

What is the appropriate treatment for severe bradycardia in pediatric patients unresponsive to atropine?

The proper ventilation rate during advanced airway CPR is 6-8 breaths per minute.

What is the primary focus during the first few minutes of ROSC?

What is the compression-to-ventilation ratio for pediatric CPR with one rescuer?

How should you position a pregnant patient during resuscitation?

What is the dose of epinephrine for adult cardiac arrest?

What is the recommended initial dose of epinephrine in anaphylaxis?

How many cycles of CPR are recommended before rhythm reassessment?

How long should you pause chest compressions to deliver a shock?

Hypothermia is one of the "H's" in the reversible causes of cardiac arrest.

What is the preferred route for drug administration during ACLS?

The maximum dose of atropine for bradycardia is 5 mg.

What is the target PETCO2 during high-quality CPR?

Defibrillation should always be performed within 10 minutes of identifying VF.

What is the maximum time allowed for interruption of chest compressions?

Epinephrine is administered every 3-5 minutes during cardiac arrest.

What is the preferred alternative route if IV access is not available?

How often should rescuers switch roles during CPR?

ROSC is defined as the return of a detectable pulse and effective blood circulation.

What is the proper compression depth for high-quality CPR in adults?

Chest compressions should be started immediately for a patient in asystole.

During advanced airway management, breaths should be delivered every 6-8 seconds.

What is the recommended dose of adenosine for treating stable SVT in adults?

The recommended compression rate for CPR is 90-100 compressions per minute.

The correct defibrillation dose for adults using a biphasic defibrillator is 120-200 J.

Continuous compressions should be provided during CPR with an advanced airway in place.

What is the primary goal during post-cardiac arrest care?

What is the initial treatment for pulseless electrical activity (PEA)?

What is the best indicator of effective ventilation during CPR?

Asystole is a non-shockable rhythm in ACLS.

Adenosine is contraindicated in unstable patients with narrow-complex SVT.
